4A/3A/2A/1A Football: Foster's big night boosts St. Mary's
Tre Foster caught four passes — and all of them went for touchdowns — as St. Mary’s rolled to a 55-0 nonconference football win over Lost River Friday at U.S. Cellular Community Park.
Foster had scoring receptions of 51, 13, 36 and 45 yards for the Crusaders.
Quarterback Aliiloa Kaeo-Wailehua was 12 of 16 for 192 yards and four TDs.
The St. Mary’s defense held Lost River to 15 yards rushing in the first half, and the Crusaders’ offense didn’t turn the ball over.
Linebacker Cobey Aldrich led the charge on defense.

PHOENIX 27, NEWPORT 0: At Phoenix, Mateo Lopez ran for two touchdowns and Phoenix limited Newport to 125 yards of total offense in the nonconference win.
The Pirates (1-1) led 21-0 halftime.
Lopez burst 56 yards for a score less than two minutes into the contest, then gave the Pirates a 14-0 lead with a 2-yard plunge seconds before the end of the first quarter.
He carried 16 times for 126 yards. Colton Samis toted it once for 69 yards and a score.
Quarterback Zach Dungey completed 9 of 13 passes for 172 yards, including a 30-yard scoring strike to Nik Goff.
Michael Walker had five catches for 87 yards.

CASCADE CHRISTIAN 49, KLAMATH UNION 27: At Klamath Falls, quarterback Kiegan Schaan accounted for five total touchdowns and compiled 397 yards as a sloppy start turned into a runaway victory for Cascade Christian.
Schaan ran for two touchdowns in the first half and threw three — two to Kristian Fralich — in the second half for the Challengers (2-0).
Schaan was 21-for-36 passing for 276 yards and carried the ball 13 times for 121 yards, while Fralich had eight catches for 211 yards and returned an interception for a touchdown.
Elijah Smith punched in a goal-line TD for the Challengers’ first score of the game, answering Klamath Union’s kickoff return. Smith ran for 103 yards on 20 totes.

BUTTE FALLS 68, NORTH LAKE 0: At Silver Lake, Kaleb Tiry ran for four touchdowns and Butte Falls scored three others on defense and special teams as it opened the season in resounding fashion.
The senior Tiry carried five times for 216 yards and scores of 3, 65, 44 and 65 yards. The Loggers had 365 yards of total offense to North Lake’s 137.
Justin Jackson scored twice — one a 97-yard interception return. Kai Hansen returned a punt 80 yards for a score and Levi Underhill ran a fumble back 36 yards.
Zack Genereux paced the defense with nine tackles, Warren Whitlock had eight and Underhill notched two sacks and five tackles.
