4A/3A/2A/1A FOOTBALL: Heycke, St. Mary's surge past Regis

Will Heycke ripped off a 99-yard touchdown run to highlight a big effort by St. Mary’s as the Crusaders rolled to a 49-20 nonconference win at U.S. Cellular Community Park.

After a goal-line stand in the third quarter, St. Mary’s took over on its own half-yard line, handed the ball to Heycke and watched him go the length of the field. The junior finished with 104 yards on three carries.

Quarterback Aliiloa Kaeo-Wailehua was 8 of 23 passing for 172 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also ran for a 4-yard score.

Tre Foster caught four passes for 67 yards, including a 26-yard score.

The Crusaders’ Brady Eiler carried eight times for 43 yards and a TD, Cobey Aldrich had two catches for 62 yards and a score and Jonah Hadley two grabs for 43 yards.

SWEET HOME 22, PHOENIX 7: At Sweet Home, Sweet Home quarterback Aiden Tyler threw for 273 yards and a touchdown on 26 attempts to down Phoenix in a nonconference game.

Phoenix scored its lone touchdown in the second quarter when Michael Walker powered in from the 1 to bring the Pirates to within one point at the half (8-7). Sweet Home had a safety to start the scoring.

The second half saw Sweet Home score a rushing touchdown in the third quarter and a 12-yard passing touchdown in the fourth.

Nik Goff had five receptions for 91 yards for the Pirates.

CASCADE CHRISTIAN 49, HARRISBURG 0: At Harrisburg, junior wide receiver Kristian Fralich had a monster game in the nonconference triumph for Cascade Christian.

Fralich had four catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns, and ran the ball twice for 57 yards and two scores.

For good measure, he returned an interception 33 yards for a touchdown and returned a punt for a score as the Challengers improved to 3-0.

Cascade Christian quarterback Kiegan Schaan completed 11 of 18 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns, and Cade Sample added three catches for 71 yards.

On defense, Sample had 10 tackles from the linebacker position. Michael Croy added seven tackles.

BUTTE FALLS 48, OAKRIDGE 30: At Oakridge, Butte Falls running back Kaleb Tiry had 280 yards rushing and five touchdowns on 17 attempts as the Loggers overcame a 14-14 halftime tie to improve to 2-0.

Tiry scored on runs of 5, 25, 77, 57 and 30 yards.

Warren Whitlock led the way with 12 tackles for Butte Falls, while Zack Genereux had 10 and added a 5-yard TD run. Levi Underhill also scored on a 3-yard run.

Butte Falls amassed 319 yards rushing for the game and had three onside kicks recovered to put away Oakridge.

MYRTLE POINT 50, PROSPECT 36: At Prospect, Myrtle Point dropped Prospect to 0-2 in the nonconference game.

Prospect quarterback Logan Gordon scored two rushing touchdowns, and running back Kyle Geardo added three more on the ground.
