PREP ROUNDUP: Pedrojetti paces South in Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii — Bella Pedrojetti had 17 points five rebounds and four steals to lead South Medford to a 54-36 victory over Khuku High in the Nike Iolani Classic Thursday.

The Panthers, 3-0 and ranked fourth among Class 6A teams in Oregon, meet national power Stockton, of California, in today’s semfinals.

Toni Coleman added 12 points and four steals for South Medford, and Kaili Chamberlin had 11 points. Sierra Logue provided six points, six blocks and five rebounds, and Shakia Teague-Perry recorded four rebounds and three blocks.

PROSPECT 31, NEW HOPE CHRISTIAN 29, 2 OT: At Prospect, Prospect’s Alissa Oliver capped a big night with an early go-ahead basket in the second overtime and the Cougars held on for the win.

Oliver finished with seven points and amassed 18 rebounds and 12 steals for the Cougars (2-2), who led by seven points with around 2 minutes to go regulation before New Hope Christian tied the score at 25-all to send the contest into overtime.

Mckenzie Doud led the Cougars with eight points and Mckenzie Thompson added five points to go with 14 rebounds.

SPANISH SPRINGS 54, GRANTS PASS 49: At Sparks, Nev., Grants Pass seized the halftime lead but Spanish Springs used a big fourth quarter to rally.

The Cavemen (4-1) were up 27-22 at the intermission but Spanish Springs outscored GP 20-10 in the fourth quarter.

Morgan Law paced the Cavemen with 13 points and knocked down three 3-pointers, Cade Ealy added 11 points and Justin Farris chipped in eight.

CASCADE CHRISTIAN 62, HOSANNA CHRISTIAN 39: At Klamath Falls, Layne Collom had the hot hand with 20 points for Cascade Christian, which took control early on.

Collom also drained four 3-pointers during a fine follow-up performance for the senior guard, who turned in 22 against Illinois Valley on Tuesday.

The Challengers (3-0) also picked up 15 points from Donminic Lewis, 11 from Kai Coster and eight from Cody Reece.
