PREP BASKETBALL: RVA girls keep rolling

PAISLEY — Although the Rogue Valley Adventist girls basketball team didn’t shoot the ball well Monday, it used strong defensive play to grind out a 32-25 Mountain Valley League victory over Paisley for the Red Tail Hawks’ 11th straight win.

RVA (15-3, 12-1 MVL), which held a narrow 12-10 lead at halftime, was led by Madelyn Bennett’s 10 points and received six points, nine rebounds and three steals from Isabella Zamora and eight points from Emma Bishoff.

Rogue Valley Adventist needs to win just two of its final four games to capture the MVL title and No. 1 seed going into the playoffs.

PAISLEY 57, ROGUE VALLEY ADVENTIST 48: At Paisley, Isaiah Christensen scored 17 points for Rogue Valley Adventist, which committed too many turnovers in the third quarter to let the game get away.

Christensen added five rebounds and Caleb Jackson chipped in 10 points and three assists for the Red Tail Hawks (10-9, 6-8 Mountain Valley League), who trailed Paisley by just two points at halftime.
