PREP ROUNDUP: South claims two duals

South Medford posted a couple of Southwest Conference dual wrestling victories Thursday, downing South Eugene, 48-30, and Sheldon, 46-30, at South Medford High.

All of the wins against South Eugene came by forfeits.

Against Sheldon, the Panthers got falls from Chase Imus at 132 pounds, Wyatt Rasor at 138, Nathanial Olsen-Benton at 160, Hunter Hernandez at 170 and Elijah Qualls at 195.

CASCADE CHRISTIAN 51, BUTTE FALLS 48: Cascade Christian, ranked No. 5 in Class 3A boys, held off visiting 2A Butte Falls/Crater Lake in a nonleague game that was a make-up from an earlier postponement.

The Challengers improved to 17-4. Butte Falls, which is just outside the top 10 in the 2A coaches poll, is 10-7.

Layne Collom paced Cascade Christian with 17 points, and Kiegan Schaan added 13.

Colby Wood scored 13 for Butte Falls, Devin Malcolm had 11 and Thomas Johnson 10.

Girls Basketball

RV ADVENTIST 42, NORTH LAKE 22: Host Rogue Valley Adventist ran its winning streak to 13 games with the Mountain Valley League triumph.

The Red Tail Hawks (18-3, 15-1 MVL) pulled away from a 20-12 halftime advantage.

Madelyn Bennett had 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists for RVA, and Isabella Zamora had 11 rebounds and nine assists to go with four points. Emma Bishoff produced nine points, eight rebounds and four assists, and Paris Quave scored 11.
