Dabbs' two goals lift South over North

Rainie Dabbs wasted no time breaking the ice for the South Medford girls soccer team with a goal in the opening minute, the first of two for Dabbs in the Panthers’ 4-0 victory over North Medford at Spiegelberg Stadium on Friday.

Dabbs also drilled a 30-yarder to cap the scoring in the 75th minute, turning and loading up on a one-bounce throw-in assist from Isabelle Cruz.

Drew Hampson also found the net from deep on a 38-yard free kick to give the Panthers (4-0) a 2-0 halftime lead.

Emily Ingledue also scored for South in the 58th minute.

Hampson, along with Cruz and Morgan Burke, helped the Panthers control the game in the midfield while their goalkeepers, Jaeda Boutwell and Eve Lynx, split time to earn South its third shutout of the season.

The loss dropped the Black Tornado to 0-3 on the season.


NORTH MEDFORD 3, ASHLAND 0: At Ashland, North Medford’s Catherine Rostel finished off a strong night with the final kill of the third set in a 25-17, 25-14, 27-25 win over Ashland.

Rostel, a senior outside hitter, produced 18 kills, 12 digs and two blocks for the Black Tornado.

Pa’oa Payne-Kaeo registered 32 assists, nine digs and five aces, and Audrey Yechout had 10 kills.

Emelia Thiring had seven kills, while Taryn Holmes matched Rostel with 12 digs and Matlyn Leetch and Sara Hamlin each had 11.

For Ashland, Kayla Miller had nine kills, Cameron Christian seven kills and seven digs, Quinn Christian nine digs, Harper Wells 12 assists and Taylor Heie two blocks.

CRATER 3, EAGLE POINT 0: At Eagle Point, Tessa Frodge and Madison Kocina each had 11 kills as Crater downed Eagle Point, 25-8, 25-15, 25-9.

Kylie Anderson had 23 digs and four aces for the Comets (2-1), and Kate Stidham racked up 31 assists.

For Eagle Point (0-2), Emma Kness notched 13 digs, Kacy Whitman recorded five blocks and two kills and Emma Poll had eight digs.

GLIDE 3, ROGUE RIVER 2: At Rogue River, Glide defeated Rogue River, 25-23, 25-22, 20-25, 23-25, 15-13.

Mikayla Moore led the Chieftains with 10 kills and two digs, while Tia Trahan had three kills and three aces.

Diana Weilbacher recorded three aces and a block, and Ayrica Hansen had two blocks.

ROGUE VALLEY ADVENTIST 3, PROSPECT 0: At Prospect, Rogue Valley Adventist rolled to a 25-12, 25-9, 25-17 vicotry over Prospect.

The Red Tail Hawks improved to 6-1.

Michaela Porter had 10 kills for RVA, and Emma Bischoff turned in eight service aces. Destinee Quattrocelli contributed 15 assists, and Isabell Zamora had four digs.
