Crater’s Dance, Weber sign with colleges

CENTRAL POINT — Two Crater track and field and cross-country senior girl athletes signed letters of intent to compete collegiately during a ceremony at the school on Thursday.

Taryn Dance signed with Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado, and Abigail Weber hooked on with George Fox University in Newberg.

Dance placed third in the Southern Oregon regional cross-country championships earlier this month in 19 minutes, 39.9 seconds. Last week, she set a personal best in the 1,500 in track in 5:01.04.

Weber has a personal best of 20:49.5 in cross-country, set in October 2019 before COVID-19 hit. In track as a sophomore, she competed in the 300 hurdles, pole vault and 4x400 relay.
