RVA rolls to straight-set win in opener

Rogue Valley Adventist got its volleyball season off on the right foot Thursday night, topping visiting Days Creek in straight sets behind a strong night from the service line.

The Red Tail Hawks (1-0) scored a comfortable 25-14 win in the first set, then used a combination of players without losing much rhythm to close the match out with 25-20 and 25-23 final sets.

“We had really good serving and good passing and hitting tonight,” said RVA coach Brad Parmenter. “I think our tough serving took them out of rhythm early.”

Emma Bischoff led the charge with 11 kills and five blocks, while fellow junior Destinee Quattrocelli had four service aces and sophomore Olivia Barber dished out 14 assists.
