Jensen places sixth to pace St. Mary’s
ROSEBURG — St. Mary’s senior cross-country runner Addie Jensen placed sixth overall to pace the Crusaders’ effort at the Umpqua Opener at Stewart Park.
Jensen finished just outside the top-5 with a time of 22 minutes, 25.10 seconds on the 5,000-meter course.
Senior teammate Sydney Godwin finished 17th (25:09.95) and sophomore Emily Bowdoin was 20th (26:41.00) as St. Mary’s finished fourth overall in the team standings with 84 points.
Roseburg senior Elizabeth Eckman won the girls race in 19:35.97, and the host Indians took the team title with 25 points.
In the boys race, freshman Vincent Savage was the top finisher for St. Mary’s, placing 18th in 19:56.17.
Seniors Logan Diaz McNeal (22nd, 20:16.38) and David Noble (23rd, 20:20.76) finished closely behind to help the Crusaders place fourth with 108 points.
Roseburg senior Preston Smith won the boys race in 16:52.01, followed by North Valley senior Justin Ball (17:07.07). Bandon edged Roseburg for the team title by nine points.
