Phoenix’s Safady gets first-team Skyline nod

A breakthrough volleyball season by Phoenix junior Ami Safady enabled her to land a spot on the Skyline Conference first team in voting by the conference’s coaches.

Safady, a 6-foot middle hitter, averaged 10 kills, 4.6 blocks and two aces per match for the Pirates, serving at a 93% success rate.

Mazama swept the top awards, with senior Bridget Fenner named Skyline player of the year and the Vikings’ John Downey earning Skyline coach of the year recognition.
