Challengers duo on 3A first team

Cascade Christian senior Austin Waits and junior JT Knobloch-Scott each were named to the Class 3A football all-state first team in voting released recently.

Waits earned a selection in the first team tight end/flex category after catching 16 passes for 300 yards and four touchdowns for the Challengers.

Knobloch-Scott was named to the first team as a punter after averaging 36.7 yards per punt this past season. He was also named to the all-state second team as a placekicker.

Also gaining dual recognition for Cascade Christian senior Bryson Cannon, who was named to the second team as a defensive lineman and offensive lineman. Cannon helped the Challengers average 360 yards on offense and was the team’s second-leading tackler with 59 total tackles.

St. Mary’s sophomore TJ Flowers was also selected as a second-team returner on the special teams unit.

Earning third-team recognition for the Challengers were junior receiver Brody Sample, senior offensive lineman Liam Benade, junior safety Tyler Almasy and junior linebacker Cole Shields.
