BOYS BASKETBALL: North hits century mark in road win

YREKA, Calif. — North Medford senior Bryce Dyer recorded a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Black Tornado to a 100-47 blowout boys basketball win over host Yreka on Tuesday.

Dyer also added six assists and three steals as North (11-1) won its 10th straight game.

O’Shea Miller finished with 16 points, while the Neff twins, Ty and Trey, both scored 15 points for the Black Tornado. Ty Neff, like Dyer, dished out six assists and Antonio Orozco had a team-best four steals.

The Black Tornado, in control from the start, led 57-26 at the half and hit 11 3-pointers on the night.

Sophomore Jayden Dunbar paced Yreka (8-8) with 21 points.

CRATER 55, ASHLAND 40: At Ashland, Crater senior Tate Broesder knocked down five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Comets to the Midwestern League road win.

Logan Price added eight points and Javon Smith scored six to lead Crater (10-1, 2-0 MWL), which built a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter and was effective in spreading out Ashland and working matchup advantages.

Hawthorn Lapierre scored 14 points and Izzy Golden added nine for the Grizzlies (4-5, 1-1) but an 0-for-13 shooting effort led to a scoreless second quarter and allowed Crater to creep ahead 22-14 at halftime.

Ashland limited its turnovers but missed 40 shots overall.

EAGLE POINT 78, NORTH VALLEY 32: At Eagle Point, Brennen Neyt poured in 23 points, Alejandro Redondo added 19 and Triston McGuire’s all-around performance off the bench powered Eagle Point to its seventh straight win.

The Eagles (8-1) defense generated 22 steals — six of which came from McGuire, who also recorded 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists — while limiting the Knights (0-10) to just 14 first-half points.

Redondo drained three 3-pointers, Neyt added a pair of triples and Stephen Dutton added five points and five steals for the Eagles.
