PREP BASKETBALL: St. Mary’s rallies to stun Bruins

Jaden Foster tallied 12 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter to help rally host St. Mary’s to a 55-54 win over Brookings-Harbor in Far West League boys basketball Monday.

Noah Friesen added 11 points for the Crusaders (7-10, 3-3 FWL), who trailed 47-38 heading into the final quarter.

Jaren Fronckowiak had 16 points and Brad Russell added 13 for Brookings-Harbor (11-6, 3-2) in a game rescheduled from last week due to COVID-19 issues within the Bruins program.

NORTH EUGENE 50, ASHLAND 42: At Eugene, Ashland attempted to rally from a 14-point fourth quarter deficit but came up short as host North Eugene claimed the Midwestern League contest.

The Grizzlies (7-6, 4-2 MWL) fell behind during a third quarter that saw them score only three points on a shot beyond the arc from Silas Wright.

Izzy Golden paced Ashland with 14 points and Egan Shields added 13.

The Highlanders (6-11, 3-6) were led by Joey Banry’s 16 points.

Cody Reece added nine points, five rebounds and four steals and Triston Wallace had eight points, eight rebounds and three steals for the Challengers (14-4).

Tyler Whitson scored 11 points and AJ Hodge added 10 for Creswell (10-8), which fell behind 15-5 after one quarter.
