Rogues blow out Kitsap

Billy Fredrick hit a fifth-inning grand slam as the Medford Rogues beat Kitsap, 13-1, during West Coast League action at Harry & David Field on Thursday.

Fredrick finished 2-for-5 with six RBIs and two runs scored for Medford, which recorded 13 hits.

Stefan Panayiotou added a solo shot, Derron Davis was 2-for-2 with two runs, J.J. Kitaoka went 2-for-3 with two runs and Nathan Etheridge finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Rogues (14-20).

Kitsap dropped to 12-22.

The three-game series continues this evening at 6:35 p.m.

American Legion A

NORTH MEDFORD 19-17, GRANTS PASS 0-1, 5 inn.: At Grants Pass, Larson Kindreich recorded a no-hit shutout in the opener as North Medford swept the American Legion A doubleheader.

Larson Kindreich struck out five and did not allow any walks. An error in the fifth inning with one out ended his perfect game bid.

Kasey Buchanan was 3-for-5 with three RBIs, Larson Kindreich 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored, Bennett Rogers 2-for-3 with two runs and Tyler Oedekoven 2-for-3 for North in the opener.

In Game 2, Honus Kindreich went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run, four RBIs and two runs, Oedekoven 3-for-4 with two runs, Larson Kindreich 2-for-3 with two runs and Preston Johnson 2-for-2 for the Mavericks (30-7-1).
