Rosebud Commentary: Ukraine Invasion

More than any other influence, what was once cable news which begat the current cable talk formats on FOX, MSNBC and CNN has made numerous mountains of molehills, a nightly necessity for them that a disappointing audience supports just enough for the genre to continue.

Then real news happens.

Russia invades its neighbor, Ukraine. Why? Because it can. And Vladimir Putin, a thug out to prove he's a tough guy calculated he could get away with invading his neighbor, and nobody would send troops to help Ukraine forces. It is devastating to the good people of Ukraine that its European neighbors and the United States is sitting this one out. As we write this, the death toll in a day is now 167, and growing.

That blood is on Putin's hands, but the grief is with loved ones who were just living their lives inside a republic that proudly broke from the old USSR last century.

In this Commentary, Larry Mendte offers his analysis on what's been going on, on whether President Joe Biden is leading or playing catch up, and what to look for next week.

We invite you to watch, then write Larry at lmendte@rosebudmedia.com and let him know if you agree or disagree with his take. And as always, thank you for watching.
