Matherly works early; Young takes a new job

Having been gone at different times and out of touch with some current events, my curiosity has finally gotten the best of me. I'm wondering where KTVL news personalities Lindsey Matherly and Shannon Young have gone. Is it possible for the all-knowing department to tell me where they have gone, just to relieve a very curious mind.

— Marilyn M., Medford

Well, Marilyn, television news people tend to move on from the Rogue Valley. But in the case of Lindsey Matherly, perhaps you were simply watching your television news at the wrong time. KTVL News Director Manny Fantis tells us that Matherly, normally a morning fixture, was filling in for evening weatherman Kevin Lollis

(note: This name has been corrected) while he was on vacation.

Young resigned on April 1 and finished her second tour with Medford's CBS affiliate on April 30. She has since become a financial adviser with Smith Barney. Young first worked at KTVL as an intern with fabled weatherman Leon Hunsaker and worked her way into a reporting position. She later worked for a CBS affiliate in Roanoke, Va., before returning to Medford four years ago.

Trish Glose replaced Young on the evening broadcast.
