Denny's scheduled to open in November
When is Denny’s planning to open in Medford?

“America’s Diner” is opening in less than a month, Susan, inside the Ramada Medford Hotel and Conference Center, only a few hundred feet from the site of the old Denny’s Restaurant.
“They are shooting for Nov. 16,” said Marvin Thornhill, a consultant who helped to negotiate the deal with Denny’s.
“We got tired of mom-and-pop shops not making it, so I just told the owners, ‘No more mom-and-pop shops. We’re going for a national chain,’ ” Thornhill said.
Original Roadhouse Grill and IHOP also considered the space, but regional Denny’s franchisees expressed the most interest.
“We like Denny’s because it’s a middle-of-the-road, affordable restaurant, and we are a middle-of-the-road affordable hotel,” Thornhill said, adding that the Ramada will be the third hotel in the nation to house a Denny’s restaurant.
The new restaurant will be more than 7,000 square feet, have modern decor and be open 24 hours a day.
Medford’s former Denny’s was one of several businesses forced to move in 2003 when the Oregon Department of Transportation started the north Medford interchange project.
