Improvements planned at Crater Lake Avenue intersection
We came across yet another bad accident last week at Owen Drive and Crater Lake Avenue. With all of Medford's increased traffic and congestion, are there plans to put in a light?
That site is on the radar of city public works officials, Mary, and it will be seeing some improvements in the next two years.
The city of Medford's latest budget, which went into effect Saturday, includes $1.56 million in upgrades to the intersection, according to city Public Works Director Cory Crebbin.
"That doesn't mean we'll start work tomorrow, but the intent is to make improvements within the two-year budget period," Crebbin told the Mail Tribune in an email.
It's not yet known exactly what those improvements will entail, but a traffic light certainly could be a part of the package. We'll keep our eye on it.
