Let elections office know about any mistakes on your ballot
Another school board election is on the horizon, which brings up my question. I live in southeast Medford and am within the Phoenix-Talent School District, but I get a ballot every election for the Medford School District board ― not the Phoenix-Talent School District board. I would appreciate an explanation for this discrepancy.
― Curious voter
We checked in with you, curious voter, to get your specific address so we could better answer your question.
Our check of your address against the Phoenix-Talent School District boundary map shows you are indeed within that district.
Jackson County Clerk Chris Walker also confirmed you are within that district.
Walker said voter records show you were previously registered in Ashland in 2019, then updated your address to Medford. She said the Jackson County Elections Office sometimes isn’t aware of school district boundary changes until a mindful voter lets them know.
Walker said whenever voters have questions about their ballots, they should call the Jackson County Elections Office.
“I applaud the voter who is willing to reach out to us to make sure they are not only receiving a ballot, but the correct one at that,” she said.
