Medford Margaritaville hotel on track for 2022 opening
Is there any update on the Jimmy Buffett hotel that’s coming to Medford?

We don’t have a lot of new info to report about the upcoming Compass by Margaritaville Hotel, but a spokesperson with the hotel chain confirmed via email that the hotel planned for south Medford is still on track to open in spring 2022.
For those just tuning in, the planned 111-room hotel complex at 2399 S. Pacific Highway will be part of the Cedars at Bear Creek development project on land owned by the Coquille Indian Tribe, according to a Margaritaville Enterprises press release from November.
The first Margaritaville venue in Oregon will feature “plush and comfortable island-inspired accommodations and amenities ... in an attentive but laid-back ambiance,” the release stated.
Those searchin’ for their lost shakers of salt will likely find them at the 5 o’clock Somewhere among other “signature dining concepts,” according to the Medford hotel’s website.
We checked the menu at the Compass hotel in Bradenton, Florida — the only one that’s opened so far — and despite no mention of any cheeseburgers in paradise, the menu boasts plenty of signature drinks inspired by Jimmy Buffett and the Parrothead lifestyle, such as the “Last Mango in Paris” margarita, “Incommunicado” Boat Drink and “Havanas and Bananas” frozen concoction.
The company says that Compass hotels “bring the fun and flavor of their full-scale resorts to a more boutique concept.” The first Compass hotel was completed last year on the Anna Maria Sound in Bradenton. Other Compass hotels are being developed in Beaufort, North Carolina, and Louisville, Kentucky.
