Cell service loss was likely from power outage
During a power outage the evening of June 27, I did not have cell service. Since Wi-Fi was also out, I could not look up any emergency information. It was very unnerving. My cellular service provider is Spectrum, and I heard that service from other providers was also out, but not all Spectrum customers lost service. Can you explain what appears to be random loss of cell service?
Because of the power outage, what probably happened was that a handful of cell towers lost power.
Only certain areas surrounding Medford and Talent lost power, so many cell towers still had power, but they were likely out of range for you, which could explain why some people you know still had service but you didn’t.
Some cell towers have generators hooked up to them, but some don’t.
