Weber's triple-double help SOU men survive OT thriller
Tim Weber registered his third triple-double of the season, Eric Thompson came alive in overtime and the 16th-ranked Southern Oregon men's basketball team fought off Eastern Oregon in a 114-104 win Friday night at Riehm Arena.
Weber finished with 25 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for the Raiders (12-2, 2-1 Cascade Conference), who outscored the Mountaineers (9-3, 1-2) 21-11 in overtime. Thompson scored 14 of those points and amassed 25 in all.
Jordan West scored a career-high 27 points on 12-for-15 shooting and with nine rebounds, and Joel Spear had 18 points and seven assists.
EOU was led by De'Sean Mattox's 42 points and Bryan McGriff's 31 points and 13 boards.
Ashley Claussen had 25 points and six assists, Autumn Durand added 23 points and 11 rebounds, and 15th-ranked Southern Oregon overcame 28 turnovers to defeat Eastern Oregon 90-82 Friday night at Riehm Arena.
The Raiders trailed by as many as nine points in the second half before getting hot from 3-point range. Bree Park's 3-pointer and Claussen's four-point play put them up 71-66 and they never trailed again.
