From the Big Apple to Ashland

From New York City, center of the fashion industry, to — Ashland Academy of Art, comes a change to learn fashion design with Alla — Bilmes at the Ashland Academy of Art, 1081 E. Main St.

Bilmes, a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New — York, has designed for such companies as Bloomingdales, Limited, A Milano — and Perry Ellis.

Bilmes has created a system of teaching that allows students — with no previous drawing experience in a short period of time to design — fashion lines on a professional level. This program introduces students — to model drawing, designing and illustrating evening wear, sportswear, — and children's wear.

The class is for all ages, but 90 percent of the students — are girls between the ages of twelve and seventeen. Girls who are fantasizing — to become fashion designers, have the opportunity to begin transforming — dreams into reality, according to Bilmes.

9 weeks curse begins October 19. Classes are Tuesdays — and Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:30.
