Craig Einhorn comes to the Siskiyou Barn
On Friday, Oct 6 at 8 p.m., the Siskiyou Institute Welcomes Guitarist Craig Einhorn to the Old Siskiyou Barn. Tickets are $20.
Guitarist Craig Einhorn will present an evening of South American music for the Spanish Guitar.
He will be performing selections from his latest recording, "Choros" which is a selection of guitar music from Brazil and Argentina. Craig has a masters degree in classical guitar performance from Arizona State University.
Since 1996 he has resided in Eugene where he teaches guitar as adjunct faculty at Lane Community College.
Einhorn records music and has performed all across the United States and has been the soloist with several orchestras including the Salem Pops Orchestra, the Oregon State University Orchestra, The Port Angeles Symphony, and the Oregon Mozart Players.
Einhorn's CD's have been selling all over Europe and the United States. His "Obras" CD was a collaboration with Mason Williams, grammy winner for "Classical Gas" 1968, with whom he continues to collaborate.
During a tour of Hawaii in 2005, Einhorn studied Hawaiian music and now plays ukulele during part of his concert performances.
Einhorn concerts have been described as unpredictable and entertaining with an unmatched adeptness for variety while maintaining virtuosic musicianship.
Einhorng also keeps a lighthearted atmosphere by telling short stories about his music and about performing experiences.
Guitar Class Lecture
Saturday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m.
Scholarships available for participating master class students.
Admission costs $5 for students and teachers and $10 for general public.
Traditional guitar master class format will feature Einhorng working with several pre-selected students. Einhorn will also lecture about his approach to technique and will answer questions.
Unique to the masterclass will be his view of how classical guitar technique can help guitarists of all other styles improve.
