Quartet San Francisco performs at Ross Ragland
Quartet San Francisco kicks off the Ragland Classical Series at the Ross Ragland Theater on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Founded in 2001 by renowned jazz and classical violinist Jeremy Cohen, Quartet San Francisco also features Kayo Miki on violin, violist Emily Onderdonk, and cellist Joel Cohen.
Cohen has appeared as concertmaster on recordings with Linda Ronstadt, Ray Charles, Aaron Neville, Howard Keel and Cleo Laine. He appeared on Carlos Santana's Grammy award winning recording "Supernatural" and on the original 'Star Wars' compilation recording with John Williams.
The ensemble's repertoire, although solidly grounded in traditional string quartet fare, serves up Big Band, Latin and jazz. From tango to Tchaikovsky, Beethoven to Brubeck, Mozart to Mancini, Quartet San Francisco uses the sound of strings to broaden musical horizons.
Tickets are $20 general admission. Senior, student, low income and group discounts are available.
Call 884-LIVE (5483), visit or go to the box office 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday or noon until showtime the day of show.
