Beliss performs at Jefferson State Pub
Beliss is an acousto-electric guitar/bass/ukulele sister duo specializing in original compositions. Beliss is the hybrid of Belinda and Melissa Underwood, both classically and jazz trained musicians. They have branched out from these styles, calling on an enormous wealth of training and inspiration from multiple genres for their own sound of pop, electronic, folk and jazz arrangements.? Influences include Bobby Gentry, Bjork, Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, and The Beatles.? Equally comfortable in the studio or at live venues, the sisters of Beliss produce and engineer their own albums as well as entertain a wide variety of audiences. Additional musicians Beliss performs with include Martin Zarzar (Pink Martini) who plays drums and percussion, Nick Crosa (Pink Martini) on violin, and Dan Gaynor (Nancy King) on organ, keyboards and accordion.?
2006 has been an exciting year for Beliss. Along with playing local clubs that included Imbibe, Abou Karim, Roots Brewery, Green Room, White Eagle, Grand Lodge, and Edgefield Winery, Beliss performed at many special events which included The Bite Of Oregon, People's Co-Op Farmers Market, First Thursday at Fifth Avenue Suites, and a benefit for the Friends of Tryon Creek.
Beliss was recently featured on an episode of OPB's Oregon Art Beat and has been interviewed on many radio stations including KHMD, KPFA,KRML,KCBX,and KCSM.?
2007 promises to be even more successful for the sisters Beliss as they finish recording their highly anticipated debut CD due in the winter 2007 and continue to touch the hearts and minds of audiences along the West Coast and beyond.
