From the San Francisco bay area the Blane Lyon Band bring their blend of funk, soul, reggae, dub, electronica, and many more forms of groove to The Mobius. Born and raised in San Francisco, Lyon began writing songs and poetry at age 13 when his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Stemming from these intense early experiences he now naturally imbues his artistic works with emotional urgency and a level of depth rarely found in most of today's popular music.

Some of those early songs appear on the self-produced debut solo album "All People" which was released in late 2005. "All People" is the culmination of years of hard work. Co-produced by David Jenkins, the album ranges from electronic pop, downtempo, RB, and acoustic and psychedelic rock.

Guests include: Sasha Butterfly, Tina Malia, and Hamsa Lila among others.

Lyon attended School of Performing Arts (High School) in San Francisco where he studied dance.

He completed an independent music composition, dance and performance major at the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1994.

In the past ten years Lyon was the founding bandleader of Familysoul, as well as being a member of Foxgluv, The Venutians, The Everyone Orchestra and The One World Orchestra.

Formed originally to interpret songs off the "All People" album, and other original material, the band has since come into it's own as a powerful writing and performing unit.

Drummer Julian Fritz has partnered with Blane as co-musical director. His experience in the desired genre's of the band's music, and his skills in arrangement have been a great addition to the music of Blane Lyon Band.

Blane Lyon Band is Blane Lyon-rhythm guitar, lead vocals, "dub" harmonica/ Julian Fritz-drums/ Asher Fulero-keyboards/ Russel Perry-bass. For more information on current shows, members, etc. visit the Web site. .

Opening band Zeugmatic is an improvisational duo comprised of BLB members Julian Fritz and Asher Fulero. Formed in 2000, Zeugmatic only get sporadic opportunities to play together due to geographical issues. At a recent show in California though, the music flowed between soft jazz, Afro-Cuban, hip-hop, drum n' bass, and menacing breakbeat electronica.
