OSF Noon Lecture series
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival Noon Lecture series on Saturday, March 17 will feature a reading of Anton Chekhov's one-act play "The Bear," directed by Alex Torra, using a translation by Paul Schmidt. The cast includes OSF actors Tony DeBruno, Robert Sicular, Teri Watts, and Robert Negron.
In "The Bear," a landowner comes to claim a debt from a young woman whose husband has just died. Out of grief, she refuses to see him &
her attempt to prove to her dead husband that women are more loyal than men. Eventually, the young widow and the landowner quarrel and decide to fight a duel, leaving the landowner so impressed that he falls madly in love and proposes.
Tickets are $7; OSF members $6; youths 6 to 17 $5.25.
