Songs for the stage
Hawkeye Herman and friends will perform a benefit concert from 8 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Avalon Bar and Grill, 105 W. Valley Road, Talent. The event is a benefit for Ashland Community Theatre.
This will be a rare local performance for bluesman Herman who extensively tours the U.S. Herman performs a wide variety of traditional blues, ballads, swing and original tunes, on six- and 12-string guitar, as well as slide guitar and slide mandolin.
Herman's music has been included in video documentaries and three hit theatrical productions.
Herman will play solo for the first set at Avalon. For the second set he's invited friends to join him for an evening of blues music.
Tickets are $15 and 100 percent of the admission will go to the theater. For reservations, call 512-8864.
