Rogue Valley Symphony with Alexander Tutunov
Pianist Alexander Tutunov will perform Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Rogue Valley Symphony, conducted by Martin Majkut. Tutunov studied music in the former Soviet Union, and he is a winner of the Belarusian National Piano Competition and the Russian National Piano Competition. Majkut will round out the concerts’ program with Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 3 and Igor Stravinsky’s Symphonies of Wind Instruments.
Concerts are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, in the Music Recital Hall on the Southern Oregon University campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at the Craterian Theater, 23 S. Central Ave., Medford; and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the Performing Arts Center, 830 N.E. Ninth St., Grants Pass. Tickets cost $33, $38, $44 or $50 for the Ashland concert; $28, $33, $38 or $44 for the Medford concert; and $20, $28 or $34 for the Grants Pass show. Tickets cost $5 for students at all shows.
