Joshua Cook & The Key of Now at Club 66
Oakland-based Joshua Cook & The Key of Now plays soul-infused rock 'n' roll that often sounds like the psychedelic music that came out of nearby San Francisco in the '60s.
Singer and guitarist Cook — formerly of San Francisco rockers The Soft White Sixties — began his solo project in March of 2013 with the release of the single "All Bad Things." He released his debut album, "Misadventures, Part One," in November that same year and recruited bassist Tommy Folen and drummer Nick Fishman for his live band.
Joshua Cook & The Key of Now will perform at 9 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Club 66, 1951 Ashland St., Ashland. The cover is $3.
