The Sleeping Ghost and Resident Peasant at Oberon's
The Sleeping Ghost plays singer and songwriter-influenced acoustic rock music.
Music from the West Hills, Calif., band — which features Clifford Nicgorski (vocals and guitar), Adam Elazarou (bass), Matt Barreca (drums), Andy Marshall (guitar) and Emily Palame (keyboard and vocals) — incorporates sounds from alternative rock and folk and is, at times, reminiscent of bands such as Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon and Band of Horses.
The band will release its debut, self-titled EP on Friday, May 30.
Nicgorski, performing solo under the name The Sleeping Ghost, will play at 7 p.m. Monday, June 2, at Oberon's Tavern, 45 N. Main St., Ashland. There is no cover. Marshall will join Nicgorski on a few songs as well as perform as his solo project, Resident Peasant.
Resident Peasant crafts progressive, alternative-inspired acoustic folk. Marshall made a name for himself in the Arizona heavy metal scene as guitarist for The Hostage Situation. He moved to Los Angeles after the group disbanded and traded in music reminiscent of A Life Once Lost and The Red Chord for lighter fare influenced by Jonathan Wilson and Minus the Bear.
Marshall's second release as Resident Peasant, an EP titled "A Lunatic for a Friend," was released Tuesday, May 27.
