5 shows to see at the Craterian Theater
Downtown Medford's premiere performing arts center offers a variety of live entertainment in the Craterian Theatre, 23 S. Central Ave. Tickets and information are available at www.craterian.org, at the box office, located at 16 S. Bartlett St., or by calling 541-779-3000. Here's what's coming to the stage in January:
1 Rogue Valley Symphony — Masterworks of Beethoven and Mozart will be paired with new work by American composer Christopher Theofanidis when Rogue Valley Symphony performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at the Craterian Theater. International performing artist and violinist Elene Urioste will join the symphony to Beethoven's Violin Concerto, and the concert will conclude with Mozart's "Prague." Tickets are $31, $36, $42 or $48. Students receive 50 percent discounts on tickets for the show.
2 STOMP — This one-of-a-kind percussion ensemble uses brooms, garbage cans, hubcaps, wooden poles, even Zippo lighters for its stirring performances. A show is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Craterian Theater. Tickets are $52, $55 or $58.
3 'The Wonder Bread Years' — Comedian and former "Seinfeld" scribe Pat Hazell will present "The Wonder Bread Years," a hilarious journey through his baby boomer childhood with a mix of stand-up comedy and theater, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Craterian Theater. Laugh out loud at his stories about family vacations, dated haircuts, lawn darts and questionable parenting. Tickets are $27, $30 or $33, $19, $22 or $25 for ages 18 and younger.
4 'The Price Is Right: Live' — This hit interactive stage show gives eligible individuals the chance to "Come On Down" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Craterian Theater. Prizes may include appliances, vacations and possibly a new car. Play classic games from television's longest running and most popular game show, including Plinko, Cliffhangers and The Big Wheel. Tickets are $42, $45 or $48.
5 The Gizmo Guys — Allan Jacobs and Barrett Felker have shared their comedic juggling act with audiences since 1987. They mix hilarious banter with award-winning juggling techniques. See them at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Craterian Theater. Tickets are $15, $10 for ages 18 and younger.
