Jackson Browne: American singer-songwriter and musician Jackson Browne will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Britt Pavilion, 350 S. First St., Jacksonville. Tickets are $99 for reserved seating, $55 for lawn seating, and $45 for ages 12 and younger. Browne was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2007. His most recent studio album, “Standing In The Breach,” is a collection of ten songs, at turns deeply personal and political, exploring love, hope, and defiance in the face of the advancing uncertainties of modern life. Browne is also known for his advocacy on behalf of the environment, human rights, and arts education. He’s a co-founder of the groups Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE) and Nukefree.org and a member of the Ocean advocacy group, Ocean Elders. Kessler, band director at North Medford High School, will conduct “Swashbuckler,” music that portrays images of valiant movie heroes. A medley of songs by Leroy Anderson and several original works for band will also be performed. Pre-concert music by the Rogue Gold Jazz Band will be offered at 6:15. Admission is free. Bench seating is available, or visitors can bring blankets or low-level chairs.
