Harry Potter Celebration: Celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday with safe, socially-distanced family-friendly specials and activities, Friday, July 31, through Sunday, Aug. 2. Visit Tree House Bookstore, 15 N. Main St., Ashland, and get a “(Masked) Marauders Map” to find Wizarding World artifacts hidden throughout downtown, meet live owls from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday at Ashland’s Northwest Nature Shop, 154 Oak St., and more. ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum: A variety of interactive science exhibits are available at ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum, 1500 E. Main St., Ashland. The museum, which recently readjusted its hours, will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, and visits will be ticketed in two-hour shifts. Many exhibits will be modified to reduce touch surfaces — fewer hands-on activities —and increase physical distancing. Masks will be required for visitors ages 5 and up, and recommended for children ages 2 through 4. Staff and volunteers will be masked.
