Friday, Nov. 13

Tutunov Piano Series: Masters of Music students at Southern Oregon University will perform both a virtual and in-person concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at the Music Recital Hall, 450 S. Mountain Ave., on the SOU campus in Ashland. Look for performances by Letizia Pent, Tiffany Fung, Declan Tse and Stephanie Chen. The program will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms, Peter Tchaikovsky, Franz Schubert II and others. Tickets are $25 for the live concert with physically distanced seating; patrons attending the live concert must agree to follow all CDC guidelines. ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum: A variety of interactive science exhibits are available at ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum, 1500 E. Main St., Ashland. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, and visits will be ticketed in two-hour shifts. Many exhibits will be modified to reduce touch surfaces — fewer hands-on activities —and increase physical distancing. Masks will be required for visitors ages 5 and up, and recommended for children ages 2 through 4. Staff and volunteers will be masked. GingerBread Jubilee: The annual GingerBread Jubilee is one of the Rogue Valley’s most unique holiday traditions. People make fantastical gingerbread creations to be judged and sold at an auction benefiting Craterian Performances. You can see the masterpieces for yourself from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, Nov. 20-22 at the Collier Creative Center, 50 N. Fir St. Medford. The fantastical gingerbread creations will be displayed in the windows of the center, so that they can be seen from outside the building. There will also be a virtual tour available. Low-cost Pet Vaccines: Make an appointment for your pet to get vaccinated and licensed at the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Highway, Phoenix, Saturday, Nov. 21. This drive-thru clinic is open to dogs and cats, as well as puppies and kittens. Vaccinations available for dogs are rabies and distemper/parvo booster. Vaccinations available for cats are rabies and distemper/rhino/calici booster. No nail trimming done. Pet owners must call the shelter by Friday, Nov. 20, to schedule. Distemper/parvo vaccinations are $15 each; rabies vaccinations are $10 each. License fees vary based on the dog’s neuter/spay status, and discounts are available for veterans and seniors.
