In Focus: Pear Blossom Festival

The annual Pear Blossom parade starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at Beatty Street and North Central Avenue and travels to downtown Medford, where it turns right on West Main Street, then disperses at Mistletoe Street. A street fair in Pear Blossom Park, adjacent to Common Block Brewing Company, will be held from noon to 10 p.m. Friday, April 9, and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Food, art and handmade crafts will be available from over 150 vendors, along with performances from local and regional musicians. The Pear Blossom 5K, 10-mile and fun run races will be held virtually this year, the Pedals ‘N Pears bicycling event starts at 8 a.m., both on Saturday. In Focus: Jurassic Empire

Drive through the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic period and experience what it was like to be among living, breathing dinosaurs Friday through Sunday, April 2-4, at the Jackson County Expo, 1 Peninger Road, Central Point. The drive-through lasts 20 minutes to one hour, depending on traffic. All vehicles will follow the same one-way route. Various 2-hour time slots are available. Tickets are $59 per vehicle with 1 to 7 passengers, $85 per vehicle with 8 to 14 passengers, Friday; or $69 per vehicle with 1 to 7 passengers, $95 per vehicle with 8 to 14 passengers, Saturday and Sunday. Ashland Take & Make: Children and their families can stop by the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd., to pick up a Take-and-Make craft kit to make a paper tube ribbon wand from noon to 4 p.m. through Saturday, April 3, while supplies last.
