The 68th annual Pear Blossom Festival — Medford’s oldest city tradition — will be held Friday and Saturday, April 9-10, and with a variety of activities, there’s something for everyone.

Parade: The parade, sporting the theme “Through the Golden Years,” starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at Beatty Street and North Central Avenue and travels to downtown Medford, where it turns right on West Main Street, then disperses at Mistletoe Street. The parade will wind its way down the 2½ mile route, with more than 4,000 participants including bands, horse groups, floats, Harleys, bicycles, walking groups and more. Also look for this year’s Pear Blossom Queen, Jaidyn Campbell, from Crater High School, who won the Pear Blossom Scholarship Competition.

Street Fair: A street fair in Pear Blossom Park, adjacent to Common Block Brewing Co., will be from noon to 10 p.m. Friday, April 9, and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Food, art and handmade crafts will be available from more than 150 vendors, along with performances from local and regional musicians on the stage in the amphitheater at the park.

Pear A Fare: The event, held at the Pear Blossom Commons, will be from 3 to 10 p.m. Friday, April 9, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 10. This event features locally produced wines, brews, spirits and local artisan foods and specialties. Admission is $5 and includes five taste tickets. Tastes of wine, beer and spirits are available by purchasing a souvenir glass.

Pear Blossom Run: The 45th Pear Blossom Run will be virtual, with entrants completing their runs from April 10-25. They can register for the 10-mile run, the 5-kilometer race or, back after a one-year hiatus, the 1- and 2-mile Mayor’s Cup fun runs for children. The 10-mile and 5K runs cost $28, and the fun runs are $7. To register, go to pearblossomrun.com. Sign-ups will be taken through April 25.

Smudge Pot Stroll: A walking and tasting tour around downtown Medford will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 9. Call 541-840-7209 for more information and to purchase tasting tickets. The Stroll will begin at Commons Amphitheater on 4th Street.
