Art & Soul Gallery: The gallery’s May’s featured exhibit, “Fresh Paint” by Jenay Elder, featuring acrylic and oil paintings exploring spring and new beginnings, will be on display through May 30. Art Presence Art Center: The gallery is located at 206 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville, and will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The gallery’s May exhibit “Petlandia,” on view through Sunday, May 30, showcases artwork donated by member artists featuring images of animals and pets. The proceeds from these pieces will benefit C.A.T.S. From 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday May 16, C.A.T.S. personnel will be at the gallery with kittens available for adoption. Local author and publisher Ginna Gordon will discuss memoir writing with Christin Lore Weber at 5 p.m. Friday, May 28, via Zoom. Ashland Art Works: See the work of local artists in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, woodwork, fiber arts and garden art. The art collective, at 291 Oak St., Ashland, will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays. Center for the Visual Arts: New spring exhibits featuring student artists will be displayed through Friday, May 21, in the windows of the Art and Marion Ady buildings, corner of Siskiyou Boulevard and Indiana Street, at Southern Oregon University in Ashland. Look for Chella Foster’s pine pitch sculpture work “The Practise Of Surviving” in the windows of the Thorndike Gallery, and Kaya Doolaege’s photographic work “Mother” in the windows of the Meyer Memorial Gallery. Schneider Museum of Art: Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Museum of Art has reopened for in-person viewing with the exhibit “Collecting Cuba: Selections from the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art,” on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, through July 1. The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Ashland Independent Film Festival and curated by Jill Hartz. Admission is free; donations accepted. Studio 151: The art studio, located at 151 N. Pioneer St., Ashland, features mixed-media sculptural artwork by Elizabeth York. Ashland Folk Collective: The local folk music collective has postponed its Folk Festival until February 2022. The Rogue Valley Bike Swap: The annual Ashland event will take a different form this year. Ashland Parks and Recreation will team up with the Rogue Valley Transportation District to collect donated bikes to be distributed to local organizations with the aim of getting bikes in the hands of those affected by the Almeda fire, veterans and low-income people. To donate a bike, drop by the parking lot of The Grove, 1195 E. Main St., Ashland, from 1 to 4 p.m., Friday, June 18, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 19.
