Rogue Valley art galleries: Dec. 10

American Trails: The gallery, located in the Columbia Hotel, 250 E. Main St., Ashland, features art and crafts of the indigenous peoples in North and South America. The gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday, excluding holidays. Masks are required, and hand sanitation will be offered at the door. Art du Jour Gallery: See exhibits by 17 local artists in myriad mediums such as watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, pen-and-ink, Conté crayon, collage, sculpture, photography, mixed media and more. Running through Jan. 31, see abstract expressionist paintings by Salon Artist, Alx Fox and wildlife photography by Joshua Able. The gallery, located at 213 E. Main St., Medford, will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Private viewings are available outside open business hours by reservation. Limit of 10 people in the gallery at a time.

Art & Soul Gallery: The gallery, which features art in a variety of mediums by regional artists and is located at 247 E. Main St., Ashland, will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and by appointment. According to a press release, Art & Soul Gallery will be closing permanently on Friday, Dec. 24. The featured exhibit in December, “Sunrise, Sunset” includes a piece from each artist in the gallery, on display until Dec. 24. Limit of 10 visitors in the gallery at a time. Art Presence Art Center: The gallery, which features work in a variety of mediums by local artists is located at 206 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville, and will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. See the annual exhibits “Holiday Treasures and Angels Art Show,” on display through the end of Dec. Ashland Art Works: The gallery features work of local artists in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, woodwork, fiber arts and garden art. See the special Holiday Showcase which exhibits work by all of their local artist members throughout the month of December. Central Art Gallery: The art supply store and gallery, located at 101 N. Central Ave., Medford, will offer a special one-night-only show, featuring works by Central Art staff members during Medford’s Third Friday Art Walk. The show will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17. Comprised of diverse pieces in both traditional and digital mediums, this exhibition showcases the individual talents of the CAG artistic team members —each with their own creative background and signature style, from print making to acrylic painting and digital art. Exhibiting artists include Leland Struebig, Yasmine Lentfer, Paul Bunch, Anne Dochez, Alex Fisher, Adam Bunch, Jonathan Alim and Jason Bell-Bechtol. Fiber Arts Collective: See the work of approximately 30 fiber artisans at 37 N. Third St., Ashland. Exhibits include sewing, dyeing, knitting, crocheting, embroidering and felting to binding, collaging, painting, printing, stenciling, beading and creating assemblage pieces. Gallerie Karon: The gallery, located at 300 E. Main St., Ashland, features vintage textiles and jewelry, antiques, art and furnishings. See the work of over 30 artists in the exhibit “Gifts by the Gifted,” which features African and Asian works and antiques, several different jewelry styles, local poetry books, and more. Grants Pass Museum of Art: The museum, located upstairs, at 229 S.W. G St., Grants Pass, features work by local and regional artists. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and by appointment. Admission to the museum is free. The retail gallery, Gallery One, located at street-level of the museum, features the work of approximately 60 local artists. Hanson Howard Gallery: The gallery, located at 89 Oak St., Ashland, features works in an array of mediums including painting, sculpture, ceramics and fine art prints. See the specially curated “2021 Gallery Artists Gift Salon” through the end of December. The gallery will be open noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Sundays, and by appointment. Houston’s Custom Framing and Fine Art: The gallery, located at 280 E. Hersey St #11, Ashland, will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and by appointment. Studio 151: The art studio, located at 151 N. Pioneer St., Ashland, features mixed-media sculptural artwork by Elizabeth York. See a series of work investigating time, wall relief Buddhas and a variety of sculptural animals and birds. The studio is open by appointment only.
