Rogue Valley Symphony: The symphony, conducted by Martin Majkut, will perform Peter Boyer’s “Ellis Island: The Dream of America,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 27, at Craterian Theater, 23 S. Central Ave., Medford. The Grammy-nominated work has been performed across the U.S., and visuals created by the Pacific Symphony add to the power of the performance. This celebrated work for seven actors and orchestra celebrates historic American immigration through a powerful combination of spoken word and symphonic music, using words of real people from the Ellis Island Oral History Project. Also on the program is the “Fanfare for Tomorrow,” composed by Boyer for the 2021 Inaugural Celebration. Rescored for full orchestra, the piece will add to the mood of celebrating our country’s patriotism. This performance also includes Aaron Dworkin’s “The American Rhapsody,” a spoken word multimedia orchestral work that tells the story of the USA through the prism of the life and words of America’s first President, George Washington. DART Mobile Services: The JCLS DART outreach vehicle, which visits a variety of locations throughout Jackson County, is a Wi-Fi hotspot and computer lab all rolled into one. Library staff, known as Mobile Services Specialists, offer use of their laptop computers, along with tech help and special programs and presentations. ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum: A variety of interactive science exhibits are available at the museum, located at 1500 E. Main St., Ashland. The interactive museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday. Many exhibits will be modified to reduce touch surfaces — fewer hands-on activities — and increase physical distancing. Exhibits that will be temporarily closed include Bubble-ology, the Jam Room, Dark Science and Pacific Crest Cove. Masks are required for visitors ages 5 and up, and recommended for children ages 2 through 4. Staff and volunteers will be masked. Admission is $12.50, $10.50 for ages 2 through 12 and 65 and older, and free for kids under age 2, $3 for SNAP/Oregon Trail card holders. Admission is $3 the first Sunday of every month.
