‘The Rocky Horror Show’

This humorous musical tribute to science fiction and horror B movies with music, lyrics and book by Richard O’Brien will be presented at 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19; 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 and Wednesday, Oct. 24; 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26; and 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, Monday, Oct. 29, and Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Oregon Cabaret Theatre, First and Hargadine streets, Ashland. Tickets are $22 or $36 for the 8 p.m. shows; $36 for the 11 p.m. shows, and can be purchased at oregoncabaret.com or by calling 541-488-2902. Rogue Valley Symphony

The symphony will be joined by violist Roberto Díaz for a performance of a new concerto by Syrian-American composer Malek Jandali. Shows are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, in the Music Recital Hall, 405 S. Mountain Ave., at Southern Oregon University in Ashland; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Craterian Theater, 23 S. Central Ave., Medford; and 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Performing Arts Center, 830 N.E. Ninth St., Grants Pass. Also look for Johannes Brahms’ Tragic Overture and Ludwig von Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4. RVS Conductor Martin Majkut will offer pre-concert talks before each performance. Tickets are $36 to $60 for the Ashland show; $15 to $53 for the Medford show; and $15 to $45 for the Grants Pass show. Tickets are $15 for ages 6-22 at all shows. Guitarists Jeff Pevar and Paul Turnipseed, along with singer Inger Jorgensen and drummer and percussionist Nick Kirby, will play an acoustic mix of original music and cover songs at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Grizzly Peak Winery, 1600 E. Nevada St., Ashland. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door, and proceeds will support Children’s Advocacy Center. Waking Hazel

This Americana, folk, bluegrass and old-time band Rachel Buklad on banjo and fiddle, Jessie Monter on fiddle, Dave Brendlinger on mandolin, melodica and guitar, Michael Lindgren on bass, and Bekkah McAlvage on guitar will gather round a high-tech replica of an old-timey microphone and play new songs and arrangements at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Wild Goose Cafe, 2365 Highway 66, Ashland.

Phoebe Hunt

Nashville-based singer, songwriter, fiddler and storyteller Phoebe Hunt will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Oak Street Dance Studio, 1287 Oak St., Ashland. Hunt’s debut album, “Shanti’s Shadow,” was released in 2017. She’s appeared on eTown and NPR’s Mountain Stage. Tickets are $15 to $25 and will be available at the door.
