It can't be over already: It seems like the Britt Orchestra season just began, yet the season ends tonight. The orchestra’s closing performance, at 8 p.m. at the Britt Pavilion, 350 S. First St., Jacksonville, will include Wagner’s overture to “The Flying Dutchman,” Weber’s “The Three Pintos, Bernstein’s “Prelude, Fugue and Riffs” and Mahler’s Symphony No. 1. World of Wine Festival: This year’s festival, at the historic Bigham Knoll Campus, 525 Bigham Knoll Dr., Jacksonville, runs from Tuesday, Aug. 19, through Saturday, Aug. 23. Events include a sponsors’ reception at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, sensory classes and seminars at various times throughout the week, a medal dinner at 6 p.m. on Friday, and a grand tasting and silent auction at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Growers Markets: The garden season is in full swing and local markets are jamming with produce of all kinds. Markets are open on Saturdays in Medford at Pear Blossom Park at The Commons; in downtown Ashland on Oak Street; and in Eagle Point at 336 N. Royal Ave., Eagle Point. Ratrod-O-Rama: The historic Pottsville Museum will hold its seventh annual “Ratrod-O-Rama” car show from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at 2400 Pleasant Valley Road, Merlin. The event will include pre-1965 hot rods, rat rods, lead sleds, choppers and other custom vehicles on display, a pin-up contest, raffles and live music. Teens can participate in a free “Randy Grubb Weld-O-Rama” event. Admission costs $2 for adults, and children 12 and younger get in free. Proceeds benefit the Rogue Valley Humane Society.
