Ecologist leads free hike to see salmon
There will be a free hike along Bear Creek to check out spawning chinook salmon from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, Oct. 19.
Fish-watching hikers should meet at Lynn Newbry Park along the Bear Creek Greenway in Talent. The hike will be one mile along Bear Creek to see the salmon. KS Wild ecologist Rich Naw will lead, explaining salmon biology and answering questions along the way.
The event is open to everyone.
