Domestic violence walk planned Friday
A walk to bring attention to the issue of domestic violence, “No More Silence, It’s Time to Walk and Talk,” will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.
Participants will meet in front of the Jackson County Circuit Court building, 100 S. Oakdale Ave., Medford.
The event is organized by Medford police, Dunn House and Community Works. It is open to anyone.
Attendees will walk from the courthouse to Pear Blossom Park at The Commons.
Speakers will include two survivors of domestic violence, deputy district attorneys Laura Cromwell and David Hoppe, Jackson County Circuit Court Judge J. Adam Peterson and Medford police officer Robert McCurley, who works on domestic violence cases.
There will also be a release of white doves honoring victims and survivors of domestic violence.
