AAA reports dropping gas prices

Average retail gasoline prices in Oregon have fallen nearly 15 cents per gallon in the past week, AAA's Fuel Gauge Report said this morning.

The average price of a gallon of regular gas in Oregon was $3.225. Although the price has dropped in the past week, it is still higher than the national average of $3.043. Nationally, the price dropped from $3.10 a week ago.

Stations in the Ashland and Medford area reported an average price of only $3.137, down from $3.30 a week ago. Southern Oregon had the lowest reported average price of the metropolitan areas surveyed in the state.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.18 in Eugene-Springfield, $3.21 in Portland and $3.214 in Salem.
