RVACT to address funding challenges at public meeting
The Rogue Valley Area Commission on Transportation will address inflation's effect on construction costs at a public meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Oregon Department of Transportation offices, 100 Antelope Road, White City.
ODOT said in a news release that inflation has driven construction costs to the point that what built a mile of roadway in 1993 now only builds half a mile.
The meeting's agenda also will include updates on the Central Point exit 33 interchange area management plan, local construction and the Oregon Transportation Commission.
Accommodations will be provided to persons with disabilities wishing to attend. Call ODOT public information officer Gary Leaming at 541-774-6388 at least 48 hours before the meeting. Visit www.oregon.gov/ODOT/COMM/pages/act_rvact.aspx for more information.
