Book Sale and Silent Auction: The Friends of the Ashland Public Library will hold its annual book sale and silent auction from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, and from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, in the Ashland library's Gresham Room, 410 Siskiyou Blvd. There will be a members-only presale from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Memberships will be available at the door. The sale will feature a large selection of like-new books in all genres plus CDs and DVDs. The silent auction features themed gift baskets with items and certificates donated by local businesses. The gift baskets will be on display for bidding in the library during the week prior to the sale. The auction ends at 2 p.m. Sunday. Proceeds benefit the Books for Babies early literacy program, author nights, films, game days, storytellers, workshops, travelogues, crafts, reading programs and other library activities.
