Workshops on floods, insurance coming to Jackson County
There will be five informational workshops on flood preparation and insurance Wednesday, Thursday and Friday around Jackson County.
All workshops are free but require registration by calling 541-774-2000.
The classes will cover identification of flood conditions and hazards, how to fill sandbags effectively, and other flood-fighting techniques and tools.
The first class will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Jackson County Roads Department auditorium, 7250 Table Rock Road, Central Point.
Additional classes will be from 8 to noon and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the auditorium, and 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the Ashland City Yard, at the corner of B Street and Mountain Avenue, Ashland.
