Woodworking Show: Siskiyou Woodcraft Guild will hold its 35th annual Harvest Show of Fine Woodworking from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 29-30, at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Great Hall, 70 E. Holiday Magic Show: Magical Michael will delight children of all ages during a Holiday Open House from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at the Northwest Nature Shop, 154 Oak St., Ashland. There will be magic shows at 1:30 and 3 p.m. The open house also features Platt Anderson Cellars wine tasting, Rogue Creamery cheese tasting, Cary's of Oregon sweets tasting and free face painting. Ashland Festival of Light Parade and Grand Illumination: The 22nd annual Festival of Light will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, with live entertainment on the Ashland Plaza. Santa's Parade and the city's Grand Illumination ceremony will start at 5 p.m. From 6:45 to 8 p.m., children can share wishes with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Black Swan Theatre, corner of Pioneer and East Main streets.
Barn Concert: Award-winning blues singer Karen Lovely and her band — guitarist Doug Rowell, bass player Timmer Blakely and drummer Justin Matz — will perform from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at the EdenVale Winery barn, 2310 Voorhies Road, Medford. Ashland Ice Rink: The Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink is open for the season, weather permitting, at 95 Winburn Way, across from Lithia Park. Skate rentals are $2.50. Breakfast with Santa: On the morning of the Medford’s Winter Lights Festival, Saturday, Nov. 29, children can start the day with one of the city's favorite holiday traditions. Families can enjoy a hot breakfast, kids will have fun making a special holiday craft, and then the family can get a photo with the jolly old elf himself. The sessions run from 9 to 9:45 a.m. and 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Santo Community Center, 701 N. Columbus Ave., Medford. Seating is limited to a maximum of 100 people per session. Rogue Valley Railroad Show: Five local train clubs will present the 37th annual Rogue Valley Railroad Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Medford Armory, 1701 S. Pacific Highway, Medford. The show features railroad layouts and exhibits at various scales, dozens of vendors of railroad-related items, historic railroading displays and memorabilia, genealogy searches, hourly door prize drawings, a raffle and hands-on activities for kids. All proceeds benefit the Medford Railroad Park. Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for kids ages 6 through 12, and free for children 5 and younger with an adult.
